Bitcoin trades at $83,362 on the 1-hour chart. It is stuck inside the $81K-$84K box that formed after the Asia-session flush below $81,000, which triggered roughly $800M in liquidations. Price has since recovered above the longer moving averages, but volatility has compressed to one of its tightest readings of the week. ADX at 11.7 confirms a range, not a trend.
Indicator Analysis
Moving Averages
The MA20 sits at 83,376, the MA60 at 83,265 and the MA120 at 83,088. The stack is in bullish order. Price is above the MA60 and MA120 but just a few dollars under the MA20, so the short-term average is acting as a lid. The structure leans positive, but the gaps between the averages are small. That is typical of a flat, ranging market.
→ Bullish alignment with no momentum; the 83,088-83,265 area is the first dip-buy shelf.
RSI (14)
RSI reads 57.9. That is mildly positive and far from overbought, so buyers still have the slight edge without any stretched reading that would invite a fade. There is room to push toward the range top before RSI becomes a constraint.
→ Neutral-to-bullish; no overbought or oversold signal.
MACD
The histogram is at -6.8 and the downside momentum is holding or building, but the MACD line remains above the zero line. This is a pullback within a positive regime rather than a trend flip. A move of the histogram back toward zero would signal the dip is finished.
→ Short-term momentum is soft; the broader bias stays positive while above zero.
Williams %R
Williams %R is -58.2, in the lower half of its range. Price is closer to the recent lows of the lookback window than the highs. It is nowhere near the -80 oversold zone that usually marks a clean bounce entry.
→ Mid-range; not yet a timing signal for longs.
ATR (14)
ATR is $304.2, or 0.36% of price. Hourly swings are narrow, which fits the Bollinger squeeze (band width 0.8%). Compressed ATR usually precedes expansion, so stops should be placed with at least one ATR of breathing room beyond structure.
→ Use roughly $300-$350 as the minimum stop buffer; expect a volatility expansion soon.
CCI (20)
CCI is -19.7, slightly below zero. Price is trading just under its statistical mean, consistent with the drift below the MA20 and Bollinger midline. It is far from the ±100 extremes.
→ Mild softness; no extreme to trade against.
Stochastic
%K is 41.8 and %D is 46.6. %K is below %D, so the short-term oscillator is still rolling down. It has room to fall toward 20 before it reaches oversold, which suggests the current dip may extend a bit further.
→ Bearish cross in mid-range; better long entries likely sit lower.
Keltner Channel
The Keltner mid is 83,382.6, the upper band 84,027.8 and the lower band 82,737.3. Price is just under the midline, so it is neutral within the channel. The upper band lines up with the $84K resistance, and the lower band sits close to the Ichimoku cloud bottom at 82,662.6.
→ The 82,660-82,740 zone is the clean lower-edge support; 84,030 is the upper edge.

On-Chain & Positioning
Today’s dataset does not include fresh readings for active addresses, stablecoin dry powder or hashrate, so no trend calls are made on those. The chart below gives the broader on-chain picture. On the exchange side, 24-hour OBV is trending down, with a delta of -6,764 BTC. Volume has been weighted toward selling even as price held the range. Price is also 0.07% under the 24-hour VWAP at 83,422.7.

- Funding rate: -0.0006%. This is barely negative, so shorts are paying a tiny cost and there is no leveraged long overheating.
- Long/short ratio: 1.28, with 56.1% of accounts long. Retail still leans long, which leaves some fuel for a liquidation wick lower.
- Open interest: -0.22% over 24 hours. This is flat, so no new leverage is being built in either direction.
- Fear & Greed: 62 (Greed), up from 57. Sentiment improved even as price stalled.
On the macro side, the US 10-year yield fell 0.44% to 5.22%, the dollar index eased to 102.12 and equities were flat to slightly lower. Lower yields, together with Fed official Williams’ remark about no rate hike in 2027, support risk assets at the margin. The Korean premium is a modest 0.66%, so local demand is not overheated either.
Today’s Position Strategy
This is a range market: ADX is 11.7, the Bollinger Bands are in a squeeze and price is inside the Ichimoku cloud. The plan is to trade the edges, not the middle. The primary side is LONG from the lower edge, backed by the bullish MA stack, MACD above zero, flat funding and falling yields. The short is a secondary fade at the top of the box.
LONG Setup (Primary)
| Entry zone | Target 1 | Target 2 | Stop |
|---|---|---|---|
| 82,740 – 83,040 | 83,710 | 84,030 – 84,130 | 82,350 |
The entry zone runs from the Keltner lower band (82,737) up to the Bollinger lower band (83,042), just above the cloud bottom at 82,662. Stochastic and Williams %R both suggest the dip has not finished, so patience pays. The stop sits about one ATR below the cloud bottom. Targets are the Bollinger upper band, then the Keltner upper band and 48-hour high cluster near $84K. Swing traders can use $81,000, the liquidation low, as a wider structural invalidation with smaller size.
SHORT Setup (Secondary)
| Entry zone | Target 1 | Target 2 | Stop |
|---|---|---|---|
| 84,030 – 84,340 | 83,420 | 82,740 | 84,650 |
The short entry zone runs from the Keltner upper band to the 7-day high at 84,340, which overlaps the first $84K resistance. Negative OBV and the 56% long-account skew give a fade some basis. However, the trend structure is positive, so this is a quick scalp back to VWAP and the lower Keltner band, not a swing. The stop sits about one ATR above the 7-day high. A clean hourly close above 84,650 opens the way toward $86K.
For altcoin exposure, SOL remains the weakest relative performer. Holding a BTC long, or hedging with SOL/BTC short, is preferable to chasing alt longs. SOL’s key levels are $100 support and $115 resistance.
This is market analysis based on indicator data, not financial advice; size positions so a stop-out is a routine cost. Fee-payback signup links for BingX and Bitunix are listed at the end of this post for anyone who wants to lower trading costs on these setups.
Conclusion: Bitcoin is coiling inside the $81K-$84K box, so buy the 82,740-83,040 pullback with a stop at 82,350 and fade only above $84K.
