BTC is trading at $82,086.3 on the 1H chart. It is recovering from the CPI-driven flush that printed a 48-hour low of $79,732.3, but it is still well below the 7-day high of $84,340.2. The bounce has reclaimed the short-term averages. The larger 1H structure still points down, and positioning has turned long-heavy again.
Exact trade levels are in the strategy section, and the BingX and Bitunix fee-payback signup links are at the end of the post.
Indicator Analysis
Moving Averages
Price sits above the MA20 ($81,480.7) but below both the MA60 ($82,381.4) and the MA120 ($82,787.8). The averages are in bearish alignment. The bounce has repaired the very short-term picture, but the $82.4k–$82.8k area overhead is a stack of resistance that buyers still have to clear.
→ Short-term bullish, medium-term bearish. The MA60/MA120 zone is the first real test.
RSI
RSI(14) reads 56.7, in neutral-to-positive territory. It is neither stretched nor weak. The level shows the rebound has momentum, but there is no overbought signal that would force an immediate reversal.
→ No extreme. RSI leaves room for a push into $83k before sellers are tested.
MACD
The MACD histogram is positive at 168.3 and above the zero line, reflecting the recovery from the CPI low. However, the computed momentum read flags the downside bias as maintained or strengthening. That suggests the histogram is losing steam rather than expanding.
→ Positive but fading momentum. This is a typical profile for a relief rally that stalls under resistance.
Williams %R
Williams %R is at -19.0, just inside the overbought zone above -20. Price is closing near the top of its recent range. In a bearish-aligned structure, that often marks the area where rebounds run out of buyers.
→ Overbought reading. Upside continuation needs fresh volume, not just short covering.
ATR
ATR(14) is $600.5, or 0.73% of price. Volatility is moderate after the CPI spike. ADX at 26.2 confirms a trending environment rather than a dead range, so stops need to sit at least about one ATR beyond structure to avoid noise.
→ Plan stops in multiples of roughly $600. A 2-ATR stop is about $1,200.
CCI
CCI(20) is 75.0, positive but below the +100 threshold that would signal a strong breakout. Price is above its statistical mean without being extended.
→ Moderately bullish drift, not yet a breakout signal.
Stochastic
Stochastic %K is 81 and %D is 84, so both are in overbought territory. %K has slipped below %D. That is an early bearish crossover in the upper zone and often precedes a pullback toward the mid-range.
→ Overbought with a bearish cross. Short-term upside looks limited.
Keltner Channel
Price is above the Keltner midline ($81,790.7). The upper band sits at $83,195.1 and the lower band at $80,386.3. The upper band lines up almost exactly with the $83k pre-CPI consolidation zone, and the lower band sits on top of the $80.0k–$80.5k support.
→ $83.2k is the natural ceiling. A rejection there targets the midline first, then the lower band.

On-Chain & Positioning
Today’s dataset does not include fresh readings for active addresses or hashrate. Rather than guess, I am leaving those out of the decision.
On stablecoins, the available read points to slowing inflows. That means less new dry powder is waiting on the sidelines to fund a sustained leg higher. Combined with a 10-year Treasury yield still at 5.09%, the fuel for upside is thin, even though yields fell 1.95% on the day and the dollar index dropped 0.54% to 101.99.

- Funding rate: 0.008%. This is positive but mild. Longs are paying, but not at levels that signal overheating.
- Long/short ratio: 1.52, with 60.3% of accounts long. Long dominance rebuilt quickly after the liquidation event, which leaves fuel for another flush.
- Open interest: +1.04% over 24h. New leverage is coming back in on the bounce, mostly from the long side.
- Fear & Greed: 53 (Neutral), down from 62. Sentiment cooled after CPI but has not reached fear, so there is no contrarian capitulation signal.
OBV over 24h shows distribution, with a delta of -54,437 BTC. MFI sits at a flat 49.3. The price bounce has not been matched by volume-backed buying, and that is a warning sign for longs chasing above VWAP ($81,324.9).
Today’s Position Strategy
SHORT Setup (Primary)
| Item | Level |
|---|---|
| Entry zone | $83,000 – $83,600 (scale in) |
| Target 1 | $81,800 (Keltner mid / cloud top) |
| Target 2 | $80,500 (CPI low support zone) |
| Target 3 | $79,750 (48h swing low) |
| Invalidation | $84,500 (above 7d high) |
The entry zone overlaps three references:
- the Keltner upper band at $83,195
- the pre-CPI $83k consolidation
- the zone just above the MA120
Several signals support fading the bounce: overbought Stochastic and Williams %R, fading MACD momentum, OBV distribution and a 60% long crowd. The stop above $84,500 clears the $84,340 weekly high by more than a quarter ATR. If price accepts above that level, the bearish structure is broken.
LONG Setup (Secondary, conditional)
| Item | Level |
|---|---|
| Entry zone | $80,000 – $80,400, only after a sweep below $80k and reclaim |
| Target 1 | $81,450 (VWAP / MA20) |
| Target 2 | $82,400 (MA60) |
| Target 3 | $83,000 (short-term resistance) |
| Invalidation | $79,150 (about 1 ATR below 48h low) |
Longs only make sense if price sweeps $80k, flushes the over-positioned longs and then reclaims the level quickly. A clean wick below the round number, followed by a 1H close back above $80k, would reset positioning. If price slices through $79,732 and holds, the next liquidity pocket near $78.5k comes into play, and this setup is off.
Funding at 0.008% is not extreme, so avoid aggressive market-order shorts at current prices. Let price come to the $83k area first. This is market analysis for educational purposes, not financial advice, so size positions according to your own risk tolerance.
If you trade these setups, you can reduce costs through the fee-payback signup links for BingX or Bitunix below.
Conclusion: favor scaled shorts on a rejection at $83k–$83.6k with a stop above $84.5k, and only flip long after a confirmed $80k sweep and reclaim.
