BTC is trading at $81,586.6 on the 1H chart. Price briefly broke below $80,000, bounced from the 48-hour low of $79,732.3 and is now stuck in a range just above the 20-period average. The longer moving averages still slope down, and price sits inside the Ichimoku cloud. ADX at 18.6 confirms there is no clean trend yet.
Today also brings roughly $1.46B in BTC options expiring, and ETF outflows remain the main theme in the news. Fee-payback signup links for BingX and Bitunix are at the end of this post.
Indicator Analysis
Moving Averages
Price ($81,586.6) is barely above the MA20 ($81,572.3). It remains below both the MA60 ($81,700.1) and the MA120 ($82,345.8). The averages are in bearish (inverse) order, so the short-term reclaim of the MA20 is a bounce inside a downtrend, not a reversal. The MA60 and MA120 sit directly overhead as layered resistance.
→ Bias stays bearish until price closes above $82,346.
RSI (14)
RSI is 65.1. That shows healthy short-term buying pressure, but it is not yet overbought. Room remains for a push toward the $81,900–82,000 area before momentum looks stretched. In a bearish MA structure, readings in the mid-60s often mark where relief rallies start to tire.
→ Bullish momentum, but approaching levels where shorts usually get interesting.
MACD
The histogram reads +13.3 and is expanding, so upside momentum is strengthening. However, the MACD is still below the zero line. That means the bounce is recovering lost ground rather than starting a new uptrend.
→ Momentum improving, trend still negative below zero.
Williams %R
At -23.2, Williams %R is pressing against the -20 overbought threshold. Price is closing near the top of its recent 14-bar range. In a sideways, low-ADX market, this zone tends to cap moves rather than launch breakouts.
→ Near overbought; upside per candle is getting limited.
ATR
ATR(14) is $241, only 0.3% of price, so hourly volatility is compressed. Stops need roughly 1.5–2 ATR ($360–480) of breathing room. The options expiry could also break this calm abruptly.
→ Low volatility now; size positions for a possible expansion.
CCI (20)
CCI sits at -6.9, essentially neutral. This differs from RSI and Stochastic, which lean bullish. The difference suggests the bounce lacks strength relative to the 20-bar average. Price is near its mean, not in a trending extreme.
→ Neutral; no confirmation of a strong breakout.
Stochastic
%K at 76.8 is above %D at 65.6, a bullish crossover heading toward the 80 overbought line. A move above 80 followed by %K crossing back below %D would be the classic signal that the bounce is done.
→ Short-term bullish, but close to the overbought trigger zone.
Keltner Channel
The midline is $81,629.0, with the upper band at $81,932.8 and the lower band at $81,325.3. Price is slightly below the midline, so buyers have not yet taken control of the channel. The upper band roughly matches the Ichimoku kijun ($81,840.2) and the Bollinger upper band ($82,027.3), which creates a dense resistance cluster.
→ $81,840–82,030 is the key rejection zone for shorts.

On-Chain & Positioning
Today’s computed dataset does not include fresh readings for active addresses, stablecoin reserves or hashrate. Rather than guess, I am leaning on derivatives and flow data, where the signals are clear. One flow note: 24h OBV is falling, with a delta of -45,610 BTC. That points to distribution under the surface even as price bounces. MFI at 49.2 is neutral.

- Funding rate: 0.0045%, a neutral level. Longs are not paying heavily yet.
- Long/short ratio: 1.72, with 63.2% of accounts long. Retail still leans heavily long into a downtrend, which leaves fuel for a flush below $80,000.
- Open interest: -0.55% over 24h. This is a mild reduction, so a violent liquidation cascade looks less likely right now.
- Fear & Greed: 55 (Greed), down from 63. Sentiment is cooling, but it has not reached fear.
Macro is a headwind. The Nasdaq fell 2.15% and the S&P 500 fell 1.09%. The US 10-year yield rose 0.18 to 5.1%. The dollar index slipped 0.16% to 101.84, which offers little relief while yields climb. Price is also 0.17% below the 24h VWAP ($81,722.9), so sellers still own the session average.
Today’s Position Strategy
SHORT Setup (Primary)
| Entry zone | $81,850 – $82,030 |
|---|---|
| Target 1 | $81,320 (Keltner lower / cloud bottom) |
| Target 2 | $80,500 |
| Target 3 | $79,800 (near 48h low $79,732) |
| Invalidation (stop) | $82,450 (above MA120) |
The entry zone stacks several levels: the Ichimoku kijun, the Keltner upper band, the Bollinger upper band and the area just above VWAP. Several factors support selling a rally into it:
- Inverse MA alignment
- MACD below zero
- OBV distribution
- Crowded long accounts
- A weak Nasdaq
Because open interest is only drifting lower, keep size small until $80,000 breaks with conviction. Then trail toward $79,800.
LONG Setup (Secondary)
| Entry zone | $81,120 – $81,330 |
|---|---|
| Target 1 | $81,720 (24h VWAP) |
| Target 2 | $82,000 (Bollinger upper) |
| Invalidation (stop) | $80,850 |
This is a range-trade long at the lower Bollinger band, Keltner lower band and cloud bottom. It is justified only because ADX shows a sideways market and short-term momentum (RSI, Stochastic, MACD histogram) is rising. Treat it as a quick scalp back to VWAP, not a trend position. Exit fast if Stochastic rolls over or price loses the cloud. A deeper long opportunity would only come from a sweep of $80,000 that is quickly reclaimed.
This is market analysis, not financial advice. Leverage magnifies losses as quickly as gains, so size accordingly, especially around today’s options expiry.
Conclusion: below $82,346 the path of least resistance is down, so sell rallies into $81,850–82,030 with small size and treat longs as scalps only.
