Bitcoin is trading at $81,380.9 on the 1H chart. It sits below every major moving average after failing to hold the $82K area. Price has slid from the 48-hour high of $84,875.2 toward the lower end of the 7-day range, whose low is $80,622.0. Sellers have controlled most of the session, but momentum is starting to flatten near the lower bands.

Indicator Analysis
Moving Averages
Price at $81,380.9 is below the MA20 ($81,907.5), the MA120 ($82,348.0) and the MA60 ($82,814.6). The averages themselves are mixed and converging rather than stacked in a clean bearish order. That points to a market that rolled over recently, not one deep into a mature downtrend. The $81.9K–$82.8K band of averages now acts as layered overhead resistance.
→ Bias stays bearish while price is capped under the MA cluster, with MA60 near $82.8K as the key ceiling.
RSI (14)
RSI reads 33.0. That is weak but not yet oversold. Sellers have room to push further before the classic 30 threshold triggers mean-reversion buying. MFI at 23.6 is lower than RSI, which suggests volume-weighted outflows are heavier than price alone shows.
→ Downside is not exhausted, but chasing shorts at current levels offers poor reward.
MACD
The MACD histogram is at -28.8 and remains below the zero line. However, it is moving upward, meaning bearish momentum is fading bar by bar. This pattern often precedes a relief bounce toward resistance rather than an immediate trend reversal.
→ Expect a corrective bounce attempt, which is the zone to look for short entries.
Williams %R
Williams %R sits at -63.2, in the lower half of its range but outside the -80 oversold zone. Price is closing nearer the bottom of its recent range, yet the move is not stretched to an extreme. That leaves room for both a final flush and a sideways pause.
→ Neutral-to-bearish, with no oversold signal to justify aggressive longs.
ATR (14)
ATR is $394.4, or 0.48% of price. That is moderate volatility for a 1H chart. With ADX at 81.6 indicating a very strong trend, moves tend to extend in the prevailing direction rather than chop. Stops tighter than about 1 ATR are likely to get clipped by noise.
→ Use roughly 1.5–2 ATR ($600–$800) as minimum stop distance on today’s setups.
CCI (20)
CCI is at -79.7, below zero but short of the -100 threshold that marks a strong oversold push. It confirms that price is trading below its statistical mean without being extended to an extreme. Readings like this can drift lower or snap back toward zero during a bounce.
→ Bearish lean, with no capitulation signal yet.
Stochastic
Stochastic %K at 36.8 has crossed above %D at 29.3, coming up from the lower region. This is the earliest short-term oscillator signal of a bounce. It lines up with the improving MACD histogram.
→ A short-term rebound is likely before the next leg, which favors selling strength over selling weakness.
Keltner Channel
Price is hugging the lower Keltner band at $81,100.7, with the midline at $81,947.6 and the upper band at $82,794.5. The Bollinger lower band sits just beneath at $80,770.8, and band width is a normal 2.78%. Touches of the lower band during a strong trend can ride the band down. They can also mean-revert to the midline first.
→ The $81.9K midline is the first bounce target, and $82.8K is the upper band and sell zone.

On-Chain & Positioning
Today’s data feed does not include fresh readings for active addresses, stablecoin dry powder or hashrate, so I will not quote numbers for them. Use the chart below for the latest trend. Headlines point to whales accumulating BTC and to ETF inflows near $1B despite the price drop. That suggests larger players are absorbing supply on the way down.

Funding rate: 0.006%, essentially neutral. Shorts pay almost nothing to hold, so carry cost is not a reason to avoid the short side.
Long/short ratio: 2.04, with 67.2% of accounts long. Retail has not capitulated, and many traders are still buying the dip. That leaves fuel for a long-liquidation cascade if $80K gives way.
Open interest: down 2.79% over 24 hours. Some positions were flushed, but not enough to reset the crowded long positioning.
Fear & Greed: 68 (Greed), up from 63. Sentiment is getting more optimistic while price falls. This divergence usually resolves to the downside before a durable bottom forms.
Volume and macro: OBV is falling over 24h (-59,679 BTC delta), which signals distribution. Price is 1.12% below the 24h VWAP of $82,306.4. The Nasdaq dropped 1.57% and gold fell 2.65%. The 10-year yield eased to 4.95%, which is the main macro tailwind for bulls.
Today’s Position Strategy
SHORT Setup (Primary)
| Item | Level |
|---|---|
| Entry zone | $82,700 – $83,100 |
| Target 1 | $81,400 |
| Target 2 | $80,700 |
| Stop (invalidation) | $83,650 |
The entry zone stacks the upper Keltner band ($82,794.5), MA60 ($82,814.6), the Ichimoku kijun ($82,865) and the cloud top ($82,882). That makes it the densest resistance on the chart, just under the $83K line. Rising MACD and the stochastic cross argue for a bounce into this area first, and crowded longs give the downside its fuel. The stop sits about 1.5 ATR above the zone. A reclaim of $84.5K would invalidate the broader short thesis entirely.
LONG Setup (Secondary)
| Item | Level |
|---|---|
| Entry zone | $80,650 – $80,900 |
| Target 1 | $81,900 |
| Target 2 | $82,300 |
| Stop (invalidation) | $79,900 |
This is a counter-trend scalp off the 48h low ($80,888.9), the 7d low ($80,622.0) and the lower Bollinger band ($80,770.8). The targets are the MA20/Bollinger midline and the 24h VWAP. The stop sits just under the $80K psychological level, where a break would likely trigger long liquidations toward $78.5K. Take smaller size here, because ADX at 81.6 says the trend is strong and fading it carries more risk.
Bottom line: sell the bounce into $82.7K–$83.1K while price stays below the MA cluster, treat $80K as the line that unlocks $78.5K, and stand aside on shorts if $84.5K is reclaimed.
