BTC is trading at $82,858, pressing against its 48-hour high of $82,887 after a steady climb from the $80,622 swing low. The 1H trend is strong, but price now sits directly beneath the $83,000–83,500 band where the last approach was rejected. That makes the next few hours a test of whether this leg extends or pauses.
Indicator Analysis
Moving Averages
Price is above all three key averages: MA20 at $81,838, MA60 at $81,678 and MA120 at $81,773. The averages themselves are bunched within about $160 of each other, so the alignment is mixed and converging rather than cleanly stacked. This kind of setup often comes before a directional expansion. For now, price is about 1.2% above that cluster.
→ The trend favors buyers, and the $81,700–81,850 MA cluster is the zone to defend.
RSI (14)
RSI is at 81.2, firmly in overbought territory on the hourly chart. In a trend with ADX at 35.7, RSI can stay elevated longer than expected. Even so, readings above 80 near resistance rarely give a good risk/reward for fresh longs.
→ Don’t chase here. Overbought RSI argues for waiting on a pullback.
MACD
The MACD histogram is positive at +139.1 and the lines sit above the zero line, which confirms the broader bullish structure. However, the momentum read flags the histogram as fading rather than accelerating. The latest push higher is coming with less thrust than the move that preceded it.
→ The bullish structure is intact, but momentum is cooling right at resistance.
Williams %R
Williams %R is at -1.3, about as close to the top of its range as it gets. Price is closing at the extreme high of its recent 14-period range. That reflects strength, but it also leaves almost no room before the oscillator starts rolling over.
→ The reading is at its extreme. Watch for a drop back below -20 as an early fade signal.
ATR
ATR is $360, or 0.43% of price. Hourly volatility is moderate, not explosive, so a single candle typically covers a few hundred dollars. Stops tighter than about one ATR are likely to get clipped by normal noise.
→ Size stops at roughly 1.2–1.5x ATR, which works out to about $450–550.
CCI (20)
CCI is at 103.1, just above the +100 threshold. That marks an emerging strong-trend condition rather than an extreme blow-off. It is noticeably less stretched than RSI and Stochastic, which suggests the move is firm but not parabolic.
→ CCI supports the trend. A drop back under +100 would show buyers losing grip.
Stochastic
%K is at 98.7 and %D at 96.5, both pinned near the ceiling with %K still above %D. No bearish cross has printed yet, so the oscillator is not yet signaling a turn. When it does cross from these levels, short-term pullbacks tend to follow quickly.
→ Wait for a %K/%D cross down before leaning short.
Keltner Channel
The Keltner upper band sits at $82,872, almost exactly where price is trading. The midline is at $82,124 and the lower band at $81,375. The upper Bollinger band is a bit higher at $83,280 with width expanding at 3.52%, so the volatility envelope still has some room above. Price riding the Keltner top in a strong-ADX environment is a trend signature, but it is also where mean-reversion entries come from.
→ The midline at around $82,100 is the natural pullback-buy zone.

On-Chain & Positioning
Today’s data feed has no fresh readings for active addresses, stablecoin reserves or hashrate, so positioning and flow data carry the weight. On the flow side, 24h OBV is rising with a +21,382 BTC delta, pointing to accumulation. MFI at 72.3 confirms money is flowing in without hitting extreme levels. Price is also 1.35% above the 24h VWAP of $81,757, which keeps the intraday edge with buyers.

- Funding rate: 0.01%, the neutral baseline. Longs are not paying a crowded premium.
- Long/short ratio: 1.49, with 59.8% of accounts long. The crowd leans long, which adds fuel for a flush if $81k breaks.
- Open interest: +1.46% in 24h. New positions are entering, but this is not a leverage spike.
- Fear & Greed: 59 (Greed), up from 53. Sentiment is warming, not euphoric.
One caution is that BTC is rising while the Nasdaq fell 2.15% and the S&P 500 lost 1.09%. The 10-year yield also jumped 18bp to 5.1%. That decoupling could hold, but it is fragile, and headlines about leverage growing faster than volume this quarter fit that picture. The kimchi premium is a mild 0.75%, so there is no sign of retail excess from Korea.
Today’s Position Strategy
LONG Setup (Primary)
| Entry zone | Target 1 | Target 2 | Stop |
|---|---|---|---|
| $82,100 – $82,300 | $83,300 | $84,100 | $81,650 |
The trend picture favors longs: ADX at 35.7, price above the Ichimoku cloud with Tenkan over Kijun, OBV accumulation and price holding above VWAP. The entry is a pullback into the Keltner midline and Tenkan ($82,124–82,274) rather than a chase at the band top. The stop sits below the Kijun and MA60 (around $81,680–81,755), about 1.5 ATR from entry. Target 1 is the upper Bollinger band, and Target 2 is just under the 7-day high of $84,134.
SHORT Setup (Tactical / Secondary)
| Entry zone | Target 1 | Target 2 | Stop |
|---|---|---|---|
| $83,200 – $83,500 (on rejection) | $82,300 | $81,850 | $83,900 |
This setup is only valid if price spikes into the $83,000–83,500 resistance and fails there. Confirmation would be a Stochastic cross down or Williams %R dropping below -20. RSI above 80, fading MACD momentum and a long-heavy account ratio give the trade a reason to exist. Targets are the Keltner midline and the MA20/Bollinger midline. A clean hourly close above $83,900 means the breakout is real, so step aside.

Conclusion: The trend is up, but price is overbought at $83K. Buy dips toward $82.1K with a stop under $81.65K, and only short a confirmed rejection at $83.2–83.5K.
