BTC is trading at $80,706.4 on the 1H chart after climbing off the 48-hour low of $79,321.8 and pressing toward the 48-hour high of $80,819.4. The bounce looks firm on the surface. Still, price remains well below the 7-day high of $84,875.2, and the hourly moving averages are still stacked in a bearish order. That makes this a relief rally inside a larger pullback, not a confirmed trend reversal.
Indicator Analysis
Moving Averages
Price sits above the MA20 ($80,157.6), MA60 ($80,201.9) and MA120 ($80,608.8). The averages themselves are in reverse alignment, with MA20 below MA60 and MA60 below MA120. The short-term push has reclaimed every average, but the longer averages have not turned up yet. The MA120 at $80,608.8 is the closest line price needs to hold to keep the bounce intact.
→ Bullish above the MAs short term, but the bearish stacking keeps the bigger hourly picture undecided.
RSI
RSI(14) reads 70.1, which puts it right at the overbought threshold. Buyers have controlled recent candles, but readings at this level often come before a pause or pullback, especially into resistance. A strong trend can hold RSI near 70 for a while, so overbought alone is not a sell signal.
→ Chasing longs here offers poor reward; wait for RSI to cool.
MACD
The MACD histogram is positive at 85.8 and sits above the zero line, so momentum is still net bullish. However, the computed direction flags downside momentum building, which means the histogram is losing steam even as price rises. Rising price with fading histogram bars is an early warning that the move is getting tired.
→ Momentum is positive but decelerating, a warning sign for late longs.
Williams %R
Williams %R is at -7.5, deep in overbought territory near the top of its recent range. Price is closing near the high of its lookback window, which shows strong short-term buying. It also shows that little upside room remains before sellers usually step in.
→ Stretched to the upside; mean reversion risk is elevated.
ATR
ATR(14) is $352.9, or 0.44% of price. Hourly volatility is moderate, so stops tighter than about one ATR are likely to get hit by normal noise. The stops and targets below are built around 1 to 1.5 ATR buffers.
→ Size positions for roughly a $350 hourly swing and keep stops outside one ATR.
CCI
CCI(20) is at 112.9, above the +100 line that marks a strong upside deviation from the mean. That confirms real buying pressure, but it also shows price has run ahead of its average. A drop back below +100 would be the first sign the bounce is fading.
→ Strong but extended; watch for a cross back under 100.
Stochastic
Stochastic %K is 92.5 and %D is 95.3, both well into overbought. %K is already below %D, which is an early bearish crossover inside the overbought zone. This is often one of the first oscillator signals to flip before a pullback.
→ Bearish cross in overbought territory favors a near-term pullback.
Keltner Channel
Price is near the upper Keltner band at $81,029.0, with the midline at $80,329.9 and the lower band at $79,630.8. The Bollinger upper band at $80,942.4 sits just below it, and Bollinger width is expanding at 1.96%. Upper-band tests in an expanding channel can either ride higher or reject sharply, and the $80,940 to $81,030 zone is where that gets decided.
→ $81,000 is the first ceiling; a rejection there points back to the $80,330 midline.

On-Chain & Positioning
Today’s data feed did not include active address, stablecoin supply or hashrate figures, so those are left out rather than guessed. The chart below gives broader on-chain context.

- Funding rate: 0.0079%, positive but far from overheated. Longs are paying, but not at levels that usually force a flush on their own.
- Long/short ratio: 2.06, with 67.3% of accounts long. Retail is clearly leaning long, which creates fuel for a long liquidation cascade if support breaks.
- Open interest: up 1.73% over 24 hours while price gained only about 1%. New leverage is entering faster than price is rising, which points to crowded positioning rather than clean spot demand.
- Fear & Greed: 48 (Neutral), down from 50. Sentiment is not euphoric, so there is no contrarian extreme to lean on either way.
Other signals offset part of that crowding risk. 24h OBV is rising, with a delta of +25,464 BTC, MFI is at 77.8, and price trades 0.69% above the 24h VWAP of $80,155.5. ADX at 35.5 confirms a strong trend, and price is above the Ichimoku cloud with the Tenkan above the Kijun. On the macro side, the US 10-year yield rose to 4.99% (+0.14) and the dollar index rose to 102.37 (+0.4). Both are headwinds for risk assets even with the Nasdaq up 1.18%. Headlines about ETF outflows and Fed caution add to the cautious tone.
Today’s Position Strategy
SHORT Setup (Primary)
| Entry Zone | Targets | Invalidation (Stop) |
|---|---|---|
| $81,600 – $82,000 | TP1 $80,330 (Keltner mid) / TP2 $79,400 (48h low area) | $82,550 (1H close above) |
The short is the primary setup because crowded longs, open interest outpacing price, rising yields and a firmer dollar all argue against chasing this bounce into the $82K resistance. Overbought RSI, a bearish stochastic cross and fading MACD momentum support selling a rally rather than shorting into the current price. If $78,500 breaks later, that opens the door to a long liquidation cascade and would justify trailing the remaining position lower.
LONG Setup (Secondary)
| Entry Zone | Targets | Invalidation (Stop) |
|---|---|---|
| $80,000 – $80,200 | TP1 $80,820 (48h high) / TP2 $81,950 | $79,550 (below Keltner lower) |
The $80,000 to $80,200 zone holds the $80K pivot, the 24h VWAP, MA20, the Kijun and the top of the Ichimoku cloud. That makes it the most defensible area for a pullback buy while OBV stays positive. Keep this trade smaller and take profits quickly, because the bearish MA stacking and lopsided long positioning limit how far a long can run.
If price reaches $82,000 without a proper pullback, skip the long entirely and focus on the short trigger. This is market analysis, not financial advice, so size every trade according to your own risk tolerance. Fee-payback sign-up links for BingX and Bitunix are listed at the end of this post if you want to cut your trading costs.
Bottom line: the bounce is overbought and crowded, so fade strength into $81,600–$82,000 and buy only a clean retest of $80K.
