Bitcoin Pullback Long Above $77K as Funding Stays Neutral

BTC is trading at $77,898.7 on the 1H chart. It bounced from the $75,690 election-day low and is now pressing against the $78K short-term pivot, just below the 48-hour high of $78,376. Price has reclaimed all three key moving averages, but the 7-day high at $81,953.7 shows the broader range is still capped above.

Where price actually sits — PRICE 77,899, RSI 53.4

Midterm election headlines have driven most of this week’s swings. The dip to a one-month low came as caution built ahead of the vote, and part of that drop has now been recovered. The data below suggests the rebound is spot-led rather than built on leverage, which matters for how we position today.

Indicator Analysis

Moving Averages

Price sits above the MA20 ($77,454.5), MA60 ($77,482.0) and MA120 ($77,512.5). The averages themselves are still in bearish order, with the MA20 below the MA60 and the MA60 below the MA120. All three are packed within roughly $58 of each other, so this is a compressed base rather than an established trend. That cluster around $77,450–77,510 is now the first meaningful support zone below price.

→ Price is above a tight MA cluster that has not yet turned bullish. Treat $77.45K–77.5K as the line bulls must hold.

RSI

RSI(14) reads 53.4, which is neutral and far from overbought. Oscillators lower on this list are stretched, but RSI shows the move has not exhausted broader momentum. There is room to extend before RSI becomes a constraint.

→ RSI is neutral and leaves upside room. It does not argue for a short on its own.

MACD

The MACD histogram is +59.1 and rising, and the MACD sits above the zero line, so bullish momentum is strengthening. Combined with ADX at 33.7, which signals a strong trend, the directional push currently favors buyers.

→ MACD momentum backs the upside. Dips should be shallow while the histogram keeps expanding.

Williams %R

Williams %R is at -10.7, deep in overbought territory near the top of its recent range. This reflects the close sitting near the 14-period high. In strong trends it can stay pinned there, but it warns that fresh entries at current prices carry poor risk-reward.

→ Overbought short term. Wait for a pullback rather than chasing.

ATR

ATR(14) is $538.7, or 0.69% of price. That is a moderate hourly range, and it sets our stop-sizing unit. A one-ATR move from here reaches roughly $78,440 on the upside or $77,360 on the downside. Both levels line up with key structure.

→ Size stops at 1–1.5 ATR ($540–810) and avoid anything tighter than noise.

CCI

CCI(20) is 91.9, approaching but not above the +100 threshold. That points to firm upward pressure without a confirmed breakout reading. A push through +100 alongside a break of $78,376 would confirm trend continuation.

→ CCI is bullish but unconfirmed. A move above +100 is the breakout trigger to watch.

Stochastic

Stochastic %K is 89.3 and %D is 87.9, both in overbought territory, with %K still above %D. No bearish cross has printed yet, so the short-term push is intact. A %K cross below %D above 80 would be the first sign of a pullback.

→ Overbought with no cross yet. A bearish cross is the cue for the pullback entry.

Keltner Channel

Price is above the Keltner midline ($77,385.2), with the upper band at $78,671.4 and the lower band at $76,099.0. The Bollinger upper band ($78,371.7) almost exactly matches the 48h swing high ($78,376.3). This creates a resistance shelf between $78.37K and $78.67K. Bollinger width is expanding at 2.37%, which supports a directional move.

→ $78.37K–78.67K is the ceiling to clear. The Keltner midline near $77.4K is the dip-buy reference.

Bitcoin Pullback Long Above $77K as Funding Stays Neutral

On-Chain & Positioning

Today’s dataset does not include active address, stablecoin supply or hashrate figures, so we will not guess at them. Volume-based flow data is available, and it is constructive. 24h OBV is rising, with a delta of +25,002 BTC, which points to accumulation.

MFI(14) is only 40.9, however. Money-flow intensity has lagged the price recovery, so the bounce is not being chased aggressively. Price is also 0.95% above the 24h VWAP ($77,169.3), which means buyers hold the average-cost advantage. The Korean premium is a flat 0.14%, so there is no sign of retail froth from that market.

Bitcoin Pullback Long Above $77K as Funding Stays Neutral

Funding rate: 0.01%, which is neutral. Longs are not paying up to hold positions.

Open interest: -0.89% over 24h. Price rose while OI fell, which points to short covering and spot demand rather than new leveraged longs. That is a healthier base than a leverage-driven pump.

Fear & Greed: 34 (Fear), up from 26. Sentiment is improving from extreme pessimism but is still on the cautious side, which usually leaves fuel for further upside.

On the macro side, the Nasdaq rose 0.83% and the dollar index fell 0.35% to 101.52, both supportive for risk assets. The risk factor is the US 10-year yield, which rose 1.19% to 4.95%. A clean break above 5% would raise the discount-rate burden on risk assets and make chasing near $80K unattractive.

Today’s Position Strategy

LONG Setup (Primary)

Entry Zone Target 1 Target 2 Target 3 Stop
$77,200 – $77,450 $78,370 $78,670 $80,000 $76,450

The entry zone sits on top of the 24h VWAP ($77,169), the Ichimoku cloud top ($77,191) and the MA20 ($77,454). That stacks several supports into one band. The stop sits below the Bollinger lower band ($76,537) and the cloud bottom ($76,927), about 1.5 ATR from the middle of the entry zone. Neutral funding, falling OI and rising OBV all point to a spot-led recovery, so buying a dip beats chasing an overbought oscillator reading.

For swing traders willing to give more room, the election-day low at $75.7K is the structural invalidation. A close below it would cancel the bullish case entirely.

SHORT Setup (Secondary / Tactical)

Entry Zone Target 1 Target 2 Stop
$78,450 – $78,670 $77,900 $77,200 $79,250

This is a counter-trend fade into the $78.37K–78.67K resistance shelf, where the 48h high, Bollinger upper band and Keltner upper band converge. Only take it if the 1H candle rejects that zone and Stochastic crosses down from overbought. Strong ADX and rising MACD mean shorts should be small and quick. The stop sits about one ATR above the Keltner upper band.

If the 10-year yield breaks above 5% while price is near $80K, shorts become a reasonable hedge for open longs rather than just a scalp.

Key levels to keep in mind: $75.7K support, $73.5K secondary support, $78K pivot, $80K first resistance and $83K second resistance. In KRW terms, 103M is support and 108M is resistance.

Conclusion: Favor buying dips into $77.2K–77.45K with a stop under $76.45K, and treat any rejection at $78.4K–78.7K as a small tactical short.
